We've all seen pets hanging out of car windows, but this is not any safer for your pet than it would be for a child. Consider the following tips when travelling by car:
Use a harness or seat belt made especially for dogs that will keep them in securely in place.
Some pet carriers double as safetyharnesses, but there are also pet safety sitters that connects to the shoulder seat belt of your car to keep your dogfrom being thrown ; injured in case of short stops or trafficaccidents. It connects to any front or rear seatbelt and features a handy buckle that attaches to the dog's leash.
Alternatively, some dogs do better with a back seat mesh that operates as a car barrier that will help keep the pet from leaping into the front seat.
