Our dog model contestants have included photos of their Black and Tan Miniature Pinschers, Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas, Pinchers, Boston Terriers, Chinese Cresteds, Yorkies, Chihuahuas and other lovely dog breeds large and small. Selected by our staff with input from visitors to our blog, our Grand Prize Model Winners of our pet photo contest for our MAY 2008 Model Contest are eligible for a host of freebies and gift coupons in our $100 Grand Prize GiftBasket and will be featured here and on our blog. Our pet contest prizes just keep getting bigger! Check out the gift baskets of our past recipients! Don't they look pleased? For our MAY 2008 contest we have added a SECOND PLACE PRIZE WINNER category for a $50 PRIZE GIFT BASKET consisting of an additional, gift basket, goodies that can include toys, treats, clothing, spa items for pooch and/or mom, grooming items etc.. all up to $100 PLUS an offer to model for our site, the opportunity to receive free sample items for future modeling assignments and their very own webpage on the site. The CUT OFF DATE for the MAY 2008 contest is midnight Mountain Standard Time MAY 20,2008. Please make sure you read all the entry info, especially if there's a <**>. And remember, background clutter e.g. unmade beds, hands, feet, laundry and poor lighting detract from your pet and make a poor picture. Check out the prize winner and runner up pictures from past competitions to get a sense of what worked...and what did not. You can add additional pics or replacement pics up to the total once you have submitted a timely entry until winners have been selected.
Entrants are includedbelow together with past Grand Prize Recipients. You may submit up to 5 pics per entry. You DON'T have to have something from our store to enter, but it's a good idea if your pet is "modeling" that they actually model something, preferably clothing because that's what our models model. Naked models rarely win or place. To enter, please make sure you include all the information requested. If you do not win, request and use our modeling tips to improve your previous submission. You are allowed to reenter. But you must update your previous submission so that it complies with current contest rules and requirements. Make sure when you reenter that you let us know about your previous submission. You need to EMAIL US WHAT TO PUT IN YOUR EMAIL ENTRY
Please number each requirement in your submission to make sure you included everything. (1) a picture of your pet, jpg or jpeg only please, in your favorite pet carrier or outfit (no purchase necessary) that we will post to our website. Remember, we are looking for models who can model clothing or pet carriers. We strongly prefer, if possible, that you include your pics in the body of the email instead of an attachment. If you are unable, then an attachment is fine.**Hint: You have a better chance of winning if your pet is not naked and not on a bed. (2) **Where and How you found out about the contest. (3) **Your Doggie Modeling Acumen Name at least 5/6 of the following: (a) 1 item on the site modeled by a dachshund, (b) The name and description of two spring/summer items we sell using your own words to describe them of not less than 30 words. (c) the name and length of our Model Grand Prize Winner of September 2007 (d) in 40 words of more of your own words, tell us which pet carrier you think it best for car travel and why (e) FOUR outfits/styles on the site that you think suit your pet in particular, one of which must be a summer outfit and explain why you think it will best suit your pet and the size and color you would select (f) Two interesting facts about the catahoula dog and how you think it got that name. (4) Please include a bio of AT LEAST 400 WORDS with (a) your pet's name AND breed,
(b) ***READ UP..this is the part most entrants miss: your reason for selecting your dogs breed, what you know about that breed (in your own words please) and where you got your pet .
E.g. "Mydog, Rayna, is a pit bull. I got herfrom Valley of The Sun Dog Rescue, her mom was originally removed froman abusive environment, while pregnant with 11 puppies. Since she wasabuse, 9 of those 11 puppies were still-born, and Rayna (my dog) andone other puppy, were ok, so I just had to have her. She was asurvivor. She is always happy, and you know when she did something badbecause its written all over her, with her body language. I choose herbecause she was beautiful, cute, and I knew that I would feel safe withher since I lived alone because she is a protector. She still is. It is a good idea to confirm receipt of your entry if you don't see it online before the deadline. Contest Rules and Regulations
-Winners must respond to their email notification announcing the win with their complete mailing address and info and redeem their Prize Winner Coupon emailed with the notification within 7 days. Email notifications of winners are made by the end of the contest month and no later than the last day of the contest month. Please provide a working email and check your email. The Grand Prize announcement will also be made on this page. Failure to redeem your winning coupon within seven days of receipt will result in forfeiture of the Grand Prize and the coupons, gift basket and grandwinner status will go one of the remaining qualified entries. Second place or other winners must also redeem coupons within seven days of receipt or risk forfeiture of coupons and/or prizes to the remaining qualified entrants. Please note, First and Second Place prizes are redeemed via coupon and your total S&H may need to be adjusted manually after entry so that your S&H for your prize order is zero if a glitch with the coupon shows a shipping/handling charge. There is also no small order processing fee for using prize or runner up gift coupons. These are also adjusted manually after checkout if the fee shows in your shopping cart during checkout. Regular S&H charges apply for runner up gift coupon and non-coupon/prize purchases.

To reenter for a future contest, you need to update your previous entry to comply with current competition rules. Grandprize or Second Place winners need to wait at least 120 days from the end of their winning competition if they would like to reenter.
-We reserve the right to disqualify winning entrants for failure to comply with site terms, contest rules or refusal to cooperate with prize procedures determined in our sole discretion. If a winner is disqualified or becomes ineligible, the prize will be offered to one of the remaining runner up contestants. We may also edit entries or exercise discretion in the choice of photos displayed.

-All entries or comments become the property of the Site and may be edited.
-Your odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. These are posted on our Model Reviews page.
-Prize coupons must be used by date of coupon expiration.
-Prizesare non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash. Winners may notrequest substitutions or request exchanges for items received, but the Site may make substitutions of prizes for equal or greater value advertised.
-Winners are responsible for any and all applicable federal, state and local income and any other taxes fees or surcharges.
-Winningentries will be made by the end of the contest month (between the 25th and the last day of the month). Winners will be notified by email. Runners up, Second Place and Grand Prize Winners will also be announced on this page. Contest winners and Runners should check this page by the end of the contest month to determine whether they have won if they have not received winning notification and contact us to verify mailing address. We are not responsible for lost email communications.
-Potential winners may be required to execute an acceptance form or release of liablity upon accepting a prize. Notwithstanding, acceptance of any prize or coupon constitutes winner's release of the Site's liability for any and all claims. Non-compliance will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected.

Scarlett Russell-Long-haired Chihuahua May 2008 Model Contest Grand Prize Winner Her mother says: "My baby Scarlett is a long haired Chihuahua. She just turned three in February. I fell in love with Chihuahuas years ago. A woman that I worked with would bring her Chihuahua to work. It would sleep under her desk and follow her everywhere. I could not get a dog until a few years ago. I always remembered her Chihuahua and checked into the breed. Chihuahuas bond very strongly with their Moms (or Dads) and are very devoted. When scared or upset they shake and can become hypoglycemic very quickly, causing them to throw up. Give them a teaspoon of light Karo syrup with water, as soon as possible. Measurements and Stats:Neck 10 3/4Width 16Girth 17Chest 4 1/2Length 12 1/2She weights 9.6 lbs. As much as Scarlett loves the clothes, she is a bit more practical for her life style. We live in the mountains and like to go for long walks. She would love it if mom could carry her lead and water bottle more easily. She does not really care for trying to drink water out of my hand."
