KARIPET is the original front pack style carrier for any type of pet 25 pounds and under. KARIPET design was developed to cater to motorcycle and bicycle enthusiasts and now encompasses pet lovers of every walk of life, from horseback riders to RV travelers to wheelchair users. Our specialized design is available in 13 sizes and can fit most pets. We have 3 specifically designed for Dachshund and long body pets.
KARIPET CAN BE USED AS A SAFETY CAR SEAT BELT is dual purpose, it can also be attached to a car seat for your pet to ride safely in your vehicle, holding the pet securely in the seat.
The KARIPET front-pack carrier is held very securely against your chest with adjustable straps of nylon webbing that extend from the front of the KARIPET, over the pet's shoulders, over your shoulders, cross behind our back, then forward and buckle into each side of the KARIPET. Your pet is provided excellent back support. Adjustable Velcro on each side of the KARIPET to hold the pet safely. On the deeper seated carriers for dachshunds and other long-bodied pets, we have added extra Velcro on each side, which gives long bodies additional back support.
Older animals and those with injuries can be secure without pressure on tender limbs. KARIPET is safe and comfortable for you and your pet.
What Makes the Kari-Pet So Different and Versatile?
The Kari-Pet is a front-pack pet carrier that lets you take your pet for a walk,
bike ride, on a snowmobile, etc. If your pet has a hurt limb the Kari-Pet is a wonderful way
to keep your pet immobile and still take him/her with you. You can shop at a lot of
places where you can't take them on a leash or in your arms; however, it is not recommended to take your pet around food.
Measurements:
Measurements are very important to ensure that the Kari-Pet that you choose
provides the right support and level of comfort. Weight should be used as
a guideline only as it will not give an accurate length or width.
There are two measurements that need to be made in order
to get the correct fit. Measure the back from the base of the
neck to the start of the tail. Also measure around the chest 1/2" behind the front legs.
When fitting your pet for the first few times, it helps
to talk soothingly to him/her to get them assured of the fun experience.
You can fit the Kari-Pettm on your pet when they are laying
across your lap or standing on the floor. Open the Kari-Pet flat
and lay BACK (rounded end) on the back of your pet, putting
the tail through the opening. Fold FRONT (straight end)
between the hind legs and under the stomach.
Adjust the Velcro(TM) tabs securely so it's snug around your pet.
Overlap the tabs evenly from side to side so the opening for the tail
stays in the center. Once this is done, press the tabs firmly to secure.
Safety:
There are two strips of Velcro(TM) on each side of the
Kari-Pet to hold the pet safely. On the deeper-seated ones
for dachshunds and other really long-bodied pets, we have
three strips of Velcro (TM) on each side, which gives them
excellent back support.

Custom Fit
If none of the sizing options seem to come close to your pet
(perhaps your pet is stout or very slim), then select the size closest to your pet
and provide us with your pets measurements. Make sure to select the "custom" -not the standard size.
Please note, all of these carriers are handmade to order none the less.
Some are cut from a standard pattern while others from a unique pattern.
But they are not mass produced. Like many of our products,
they are handmade by a small family business right here in the US.

Cross Braces are also available to separate the shoulder starps and distribute the weight evenly. This addition to the Karipet is the best feature. You don't fumble for the straps and the carrier does not ride up on your neck.
