This is Molly Mouse, my four year old Chihuahua (in the Kermit-green
sweatshirt). When I first brought Molly home from a rescue situation,
she
was in pretty rough shape. She was one year old but weighed less than 2
pounds, had sores all over her ears and bald spots all over her coat
including a bare tail. Since her heinie was so scrawny, and her head so
heavy, she used to topple over. However, after many good meals (and she
makes sure she never misses one), she's got some junk in her trunk.
She's up
to a whopping 3 pounds!
Originally, I had just named her Molly, but
after a
few days I realized she was practically silent. So I decided to add the
"Mouse" as well as a kitty bell around her neck. Now I always know
where she
is! [If it's not on my lap, it's in the garbage can...]
Despite her rough start in life, Molly is a total lovebug and has never
met
a stranger. Her favorite things to do are: chew a good bone; go for
walks
where she'll approach anyone & anything that comes her way; getting
belly
rubs; and car rides. Perhaps her most favorite game is "Get the
Chichi",
whereby "Chichi" is the stuffed Chihuahua Bruiser from the Legally
Blond
movies.
Molly and her Chihuahua sister Maggie May (the blond in the
photo)
love to show Bruiser who's boss :-). Molly also loves to play "keep
away"
when Maggie is trying to play fletch, shaking hands, and playing
"Where's
Maggie?"
Anyone I've told that I have Chihuahuas and has scoffed at me, quickly
changed their tune once they met Molly. I may have rescued her from a
bad
situation, but she's the real hero. She's brought so much joy to my
life and
to others with her sweet attitude and stinky kisses. She's got a heart
as
big as she is. Good things really do come in small packages.
PS - Maggie is wearing her favorite outfit...her birthday suit!
